Things Are Moving
Apologies for the radio silence again for the last little while! What with major upheavals in my life, I've had to focus on getting a little bit of rest & making a new plan for going forward.
Without a job, a now have a lot more time on my hands, albeit with a lot more stress too. I don't need to seriously worry for about 6 months though, so for the immediate future, I wanted to try to turn this setback into an opportunity, rather than waste it feeling sorry for myself!
As such, I'm going to be vastly increasing my development time, & also moving a lot of it to Twitch. From this coming Monday, I'll be streaming around 7 hours a day, Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri, purely dedicated to game development & research. This is going to allow me to finally work through some of the larger scale games that I've started over the years, & to explore some of the bigger ideas I have as well.
This doesn't mean the weekend games will be stopping, though! I can't promise I'll manage one every weekend, but I'll certainly be trying. The streams on Fridays are going to be dedicated to laying the foundation for a weekend game, so that I can try to identify & eliminate any roadblocks that might stop me from completing it by Sunday evening, & getting the basic, somewhat repetitive programming out the way early, to allow me to really dig in over the weekend.
All this to say, there's a lot more good stuff coming your way. You can come on over to my Twitch Channel if you'd like to hang out & see what I'm up to, & the portfolio that is my Itch.io page should get much busier over the coming months.
I'll get a new job eventually, but to be honest, I really don't have any interest in working for other people any more (who does, to be fair), so I also want to try to explore a more sustainable path forwards. If streaming & micro games works out in my favour, great, but I may just as easily end up working as a contractor or consultant. Anything to avoid being in the same situation as I was last month!
Once again, thank you all for your support! Anyone who would like to is also always welcome to head over to my Patreon page to support in a more material fashion; this will also guarantee you a free copy of all my games for as long as you remain subscribed! Really though, just reading, sharing & playing the occasional game yourself is more than enough!
Watch this space for more updates soon, & thanks again for reading!
